First machining

The first machining was to the bed supports, to level them off as much as possible.

After all that effort, the temperature was a bit higher than I would've liked...

Moving day

Now it was pretty much all together, it was moved to my study, which is separate from where I did the initial assembly. This allows me to machine in the next room, with a 300mm thick wall between myself and the machine - just in case something were to be thrown off!

Adding the bed

To mount the bed, I needed a few holes in the bed in order to bolt it down to the bed supports. And the machine was best placed to do this!

The two plates at the front were to hold the bed in place while it was being machined, and I also measured the distances across the corners - it seemed pretty square!
